Tottenham have signed Japanese defender Kota Takai from J-League on the side of Kawasaki Frontale for 5m pounds.
The 20 -year -old has signed a five -year contract until the 2030 summer and will be part of Thomas Frank’s first squad.
Takai has won four hats to Japan’s top side, making his international first in qualifying for the World Cup against China last September.
The defender played an important role in Kawasaki Frontale to win the Japanese Super Cup in 2024 while he was also given the best national player that year.
He is Tottenham’s third signing of the warm season, after loans of Defender Kevin Danso and front mathys Tel They were made permanent.
