Seattle Kraken Reassigned Mitchell Stephens to Coachella Valley


I Seattle Kraken they reassigned Mitchell Stephens to Coachella Valley Firebirdsreported on Thursday.

Stephens, a 2015 second-round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning, split time between the Kraken and Firebirds this season. In nine games with Seattle, he collected an assist while scoring three goals and adding an assist in 11 games with the Firebirds.

Having turned pro at the end of the 2016-17 season, Stephens has appeared in 104 NHL games with the Lightning, Kraken, Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens. During that time he has scored five goals and 17 points.

With Stephens reassigned to the AHL, he will have a chance to play a bigger role for the Firebirds. While he may work as a bottom-six player, Stephens is the perfect depth for the Kraken to have in case of injury.
