Mido has about 100 boys for the manufacturer and aims to expand the project to include girls.
He says working with mental strength and flexibility is important to give his intake a better chance of success in Europe.
“We have a high psychology team who works with children every day,” he explained.
“Many of our boys speak very good English. Like the Egyptians, some of us had problems because of not speaking any foreign language that does not help to get used to communication with your new team partners.
“Being dealing with different cultures is very important.
“If you have the right ideas.
Mido started his playing career with Zamalek and later returned to two other holes and Cairo Giants.
Egyptian clubs have dominated the African Champions League in recent years, winning five of the last six, yet Mido’s last goal is for his young players to the manufacturer to establish himself in Europe.
“Our main goal is to get at least four or five players to Europe,” he said.
“And we dream that in 10 years we will have 60-70 players graduating out of this training program to play across Europe.
“And we will be following them, following them, and we will have people around them to continue working in developing them – even if they play in Europe.
“To me, this is a good feeling, that you help young children develop and work in their dreams.
“The good thing about coming here is to see the eyes of the boys are bright, full of hope. We are all here to dream.”
