Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham said he would be ready to force the sale of the land needed for the large localization of Old Traoord Stadium.

Burnham, who has been supporting Manchester United’s plans to demolish his 74,310 capacity stadium on behalf of the replacement of £ 2bn 100,000 seats.

But United would need to buy the nearest land that its owners, Freightliner, appreciated for $ 400m – 10 times a club count for that.

Burnham said the discussion was in their early stages, but that his office would be able to use the power of the purchase of “if needed”.

“Manchester joint authorities have approved the establishment of the Mayor Development Agency (MDC) to manage a large area of the area to facilitate a land meeting,” he told BBC Radio Manchester.

“But there is a lot that can be done if the agreement cannot be reached.

“The act of truth will only go in the autumn with the MDC,” he added.

Manchester United have said the whole project has the capacity to create 92,000 new jobs, will involve the construction of 17,000 houses, bringing more than 1.8 million visitors to the area each year.

It adds that the project will be eligible for an additional 7.3bn per year for the British economy.

Freightliner said it was open by moving operations to Ilp North, a new depo planned for the border of Warrington, St. Helens, and Wigan 17 miles.
