Jean-Philippe Mateta: Fa Cricided over Crystal’s White House on Liam Roberts Challenges

Crystal Palace accused Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts of hurting Jean-Philippe Mateta and “great and violent power”, revealed.

The 30 -year -old was banned for six games After being sent eight minutes to his side 3-1 FA Fifth Cup defeat to the fifth round in Selhurst Park By kicking him in the head when he rushes to the goal.

In a written reasons in connection with the Appeal of the Football Association to increase the ban on three Roberts’ matches, the Premier League has submitted a emotional letter to the FA that was viewed by the regulatory commission in charge of the case.

His part read: “LR (Roberts) was fully aware of JPM (Mateta); he had time to eliminate the challenge but he continued with a great and violent force that he could have united.”

The French attacker was given oxygen before being taken to hospital and needed 25 stakes for severe laceration for his left ear.

Despite the White House letter, the commission – which agreed the three -match ban is not enough – questioned the FA dependency on it and much needed to be treated with “great attention”.

“The hyperbole within the CPFC letter does not help the commission in reviewing the evidence in an unusual, reasonable and unequal,” it added.

“A large number of CPFC letters must be taken with great care as an increased and partial account.

“The FA dependency of the CPFC letter, therefore, is very disturbing.”

The FA said the level of negligence was “unique” and wanted to make it clear to the players that “meaningless actions would have a negative effect.”

Roberts contacted Mateta at 18:56 on the day of the game after being given his cellphone number and the striker responding a few hours later.

He told the commission: “I have made a mistake, for the second part, with the negative consequences for Mr. Mateta, which I regret.”

He added: “I was immediately damaged by the incident.

“Although I do not admit that the normal punishment is not enough, I agree that the challenge was not reasonable and that sending it because it was right. Again, I’m very sorry.”

Former Walsall goalkeeper and Middlesbrough has left the social media after receiving abuse following the challenge in the fifth round game earlier this month and said his wife was also targeted.

He told the commission the abuse and knowledge he hurt another specialist “he had a profound effect on my mental well -being”.
