Premier Leeds United visitors have signed Gabriel Gudmundsson left from the French Lille side.
Sweden International, 26, has signed a four -year contract on Elland Road following a £ 10m action.
Gudmundsson made the last 45 matches on Lille’s side which finished fifth in Ligue 1, completely missing out on the Champions League position for Nice in the goals difference.
They also had the second best defensive record in France’s top division and 36 agreed goals, set only by champions Paris St-Germain’s 35.
Gudmundsson, who previously played for Halmstads and Groningen before joining Lille in 2021, scored two league goals during the 2024-25 season and had a completion rate of 82.1%.
Also capable of playing as a winner and in the midfield, he appeared nine times in the Champions League last season when Lille finished seventh in the league to the last 16, where they were defeated by Borussia Dortmund.
He is the former Swedish international Niklas Gudmundsson, who played for Blackburn Rovers and Ipswich Town during a spell in England.
Gudmundsson becomes the fourth signing of Leeds this summer following the arrival of defenders Sebastiaan Bornuuw and Jaka Bijol as well as German ahead Lukas clean.
Daniel Farke’s side begins their Premier League campaign at home to Everton on 18 August.
