Emma Raducanu from England lost in the first round of Abu Dhabi Open when he went straight to the former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrusova.
Raducanu, 22, was beaten 6-3 6-4 because he was proven to not be able to take advantage of the Wildcard entry late to the main lottery.
He made a positive start against Czech Vondrusova and led 3-1 after the initial resting service, but he then handed over the first set by losing five matches in a row.
Vondrusova, who returned from layoffs of six months in January after shoulder operation, saved four rest points at the beginning of the second set before breaking the 5-3 advantage and the opportunity to serve the match.
While Raducanu offers a direct response to remain in a fight by winning the next match, the hope of US 2021 champions to make the comeback ends soon.
It all ended when Vondrusova, the winner of 2023 in Wimbledon, won the third match point.
Raducanu was promoted to the 28-main plane in Abu Dhabi on weekends, after initially determined to compete in qualifications for the first time since his fairy tale was running in New York three and a half years ago.
World number 56 reached the third round of the Australian Open last month. He rose back to the top 60 of the world last year after losing most of the 2023 season after surgery on the two wrists and his left ankle.
Vondrusova will play the fourth seed Kazakh Yulia Putintseva Next.
