Dundee lost their first opener at Hibs on Sunday and failed to continue from their league cup group, with Pressley describing the number of contracts expiring, as well as final loans as a “full storm”, and “no one to blame”.
Shaky’s startup for its first appointment in six years has brought flak from sticks and pundits but Pressley insists: “I don’t listen to external noise.”
The 51 -year -old, who takes his side to Ibrox on Saturday, explained: “During my Pro License, Dundee Technical Director) Gordon (Strachan) spoke about living in your own bubble as the main trainer.
“I took that to the board and I never looked at the social media, I never read any newspapers, there is no such thing, because we are all vulnerable.
“Everyone wants to be loved, everyone wants to hear ‘yes, he is the world’s greatest manager’ but you must admit that that is not always the case.
“Fans emerge every Saturday regardless of the club, expecting their team to win, but when you are in a club like Dundee it is harder to win than in a club as a Ranger so we have to expect to criticize more sometimes. That’s the truth of the job.”
