Catriona Matthew will captain Great Britain and Ireland again in the 2026 Curtis Cup against the United States at the Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles.
Matthew led the side in a thrilling performance 10½-9½ won for the US at Sunningdale in September – GB&I’s first Curtis Cup victory since 2016.
The two-time Solheim Cup-winning captain will be looking for back-to-back victories when the 44th edition of the event is held from 12 to 14 June 2026.
The Scot, who as a player won the Curtis Cup in 1992 and helped retain it in 1994, succeeded Elaine Ratcliffe in the role ahead of this year’s game.
“2024 victory is here for anything I’ve achieved, including winning the Solheim Cup as a player and captain,” said Matthew, who has won one major title, the 2009 Women’s British Open.
“It’s always difficult to win when you’re away from home and I’m excited for this opportunity. It’s my job to rebuild a team that plays well and is determined and determined to keep the trophy.”
