Aberdeen, Celtic and Patrick Thistle Discipline on Pyros

“All three clubs have been found to have violated the SPFL rules by failing to ensure, as far as possible, that their supporters were not involved in” unacceptable conduct “in those matches,” the league said in a statement.

“Clubs were also found to have failed to recognize or take disciplinary action against supporters responsible for the pyrotechnic exhibition and, in the case of Partick Thistle, also against those who carried out the pitch invasion.”

The raid resulted in a two -minute delay in the second game of the first game at Somerset Park on May 9, when such a delay was caused by Thistle fans using Pyrotechnics and throwing them into the field.

The pyrotechnics exhibition of Aberdeen fans during their 14 May match against Celtic led Sky Sports “forced to grant relief for interruptions following the show, which led to large smoke clouds to form inside the stadium”.

Celtic supporters held a pyrotechnic exhibition in the north-east corner of Celtic Park during and before the last league game at home at St Mirren on May 17.

“These events posed a health and safety risk to your fellow supporters, players and those who work in matches; as well as a major disruption to thousands of supporters in matches with fans watching the games at home,” SPFL added.
