CHAN 2024: The crowd chaos increases security concerns in Kenya


The sale of tickets to other African Nations tournament (CHAN) matches in Nairobi has been suspended after chaos covers Kenya’s victory over Morocco on Sunday.

Mookh Africa, a Chan ticket service provider in Kenya, confirmed to BBC Sport Africa that the reform sales to the stadium, known as the Moi Sports Center, have been suspended until the organizers issue more orders.

The Disciplinary and Security Committees of the African Football Federation (CAF) have launched an investigation but a spokesman for the mainland’s General Assembly denied that it took the decision to suspend the sale.

“CAF is concerned about the security situation witnessed in Kenyan games,” a spokesman said.

“CAF is involved with the Local Development Committee and the Government of (Kenya) to address security issues.”

The BBC Sport Africa has contacted the Kenya Football Federation (FKF) and the CHAN organizing committee for comments but has not yet received a response.
