Ines Fitzgerald adds a European address younger than 20,000 mV crown 5000 m

Ines Fitzgerald Great Britain has completed a long distance duplicate when she won the European Championships under the age of 20 at 3,000 m.

The 19-year-old from Devon added the crown to the 5,000m title she won on Thursday, as she strives for a place at the World Cup in Tokyo.

Fitzgerald – who was third in the 5,000 m British Championship – was taken over by the European title under 20.39 more than 22 seconds before 0f 8: 46.39 – more than 22 seconds before the Swedish silver medal Cermen Cerjul.

Time in the Finnish town of Tampere has broken the 32-year-old championship record.

Comes after that Break Zola Budd European 5000 m under 20 Record last month.

Fitzgerald – who plans to race at the Diamond League meeting in Brussels next week – is still waiting to see if it will be selected for the British team for 5,000 million in Tokyo.

When she finished outside the first two at the UK championship – which would provide her place at the event – she has to wait for her to see if the selectors will be available to her third slot.
