Manchester City midfielder Rodri has suffered from injury and is unlikely to be “straight” until after the international break, says manager Pep Guardiola.
The Spanish international spent more than 2024-25 wasolation due to suffering anterior cruciate ligament last September.
The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner returned to take action when he came as a late alternative to last season’s Premier League game against Bournemouth.
The 29-year-old was also part of Guardiola’s squad at the club’s World Cup in Merika during the summer when City came from the last 16 to Al-Hilal.
Rodri came as a replacement for the second half against Saudi Arabia’s side but went early in the extra time with what is thought to be a groin issue.
“Rodri continues to be better but he had a serious injury in the last game against Al-Hilal,” said Guardiola.
“He has done the best exercises in the last few days. I hope after an international break, he will be okay.”
