Trey Lance and Taylor Henike’s Justin Herbert are competing for a backup quarter back job. In the official depth chart, Lance or Hanikki is listed as number 2.
Lance launches the Hall of Fame Game, and Hanikke will get his turn against the Saints on Sunday against Eric Smith from the team’s website report.
Lance played 47 snaps in the victory over lions last week, before 120 yards for 13 and two touchdowns before changing DJ Eglyly. Don’t play Hannik.
The Chargers received Henike in trade with Falcons a year ago, and earned mop -up duty in four games last season. He re -signed the chargers with the officer.
