In the construction of their championship opener against Middlesbrough at Riverside Stadium on Saturday (15:00 BST), Swans have hired six players for the first team.
West Ham United defender Kaelan Casey joined a long -term loan to follow Zeidane Inoussa, Bobby Wales, Cameron Burgess, Ricardo Santos and Ethan Galbraith in joining the Alan Sheehan side.
But Gorringe is not under the illusion that swans must remain alive in the final stages of the summer window to ensure that the squad can face the complexity of the second game campaign.
“We started a good start. I think the window is generally walking step by step,” he said.
“In that first phase, you have a pool of players who are eager to enter the early season and I think we worked well in that part of the window.
“The second part is more complicated, there are still four weeks left of the window. The level of the players we follow will have the options.
“No one has an unlimited budget; we have to work financially to ensure that we can get the right contracts that allow us to increase our budget for playing and competing at the best level and what we have.
“The transfer market this year in the championship is more competitive than it was before.”
Swans enjoyed the big end of the 2024-25 anxiety that saw Luke Williams losing work in February.
They scored 23 points from possible under the transitional boss Sheehan before nominating the Irish as head coach on a permanent base before the last day’s game with Oxford United.
So what is the goal for 2025-26?
“I think the main thing is that we need to be better,” concluded Gorringe.
“We have created a very good team and far away and we have to continue to promote and look for improvement in every area.”
