Charlton Athletic: A great sleeping sleep?

“People say it’s a big sleeping person but I feel like it’s starting to wake up.”

Charlie Kelman first noticed that Charlton Athletic had emerged from their five -year sleep.

The 23 -year -old stood with his teammates Leyton Orient on Turf while Nathan Jones and Addick players climbed Wembley’s stages and celebrated with the title of the last Premier League winners in May.

It was a brutal end to a good loan season with O’s for Kelman, where he added league scoring charts and 21 goals.

More than two months after Addick was sealed in the championship, Kelman signed for a permanent deal from Queens Park Ranger And he is ready to do first in the valley against Watford on Saturday.

“To me this was my first choice. Once, once there was interest this was a club for me, there was no place elsewhere I wanted to go. I made it clear and it took five and a half weeks but we finished,” he told BBC Radio London.

“(I came) because of the gaffer, because of the club’s size.

“Starting out to look inside, the project they create is very fun and I want to play my part in it.”
