Clara Tauson defeated Madison Keys to establish an open semifinal of Canada with Naomi Osaka


Clara Tauson reached the last four of Canada open by defeating American Madison Keys 6-1 6-4 on Tuesday to reach the second semi-career of WTA 1000.

Danish player Tauson, 16th seed in Montreal, secures other big scalp afterwards Beat the second seed of Iga Swiatek in the previous round.

After defeating the sixth superior key, the 22 -year -old revealed he had done it while dealing with a personal tragedy.

“Two days ago, my grandfather unfortunately died – so I really wanted to win for him today,” Tauson said after the match.

“I was told the day after I defeated Swiatek, so yesterday, and I really wanted to come here and show my best tennis for him.

“I hope he watches.”

Tauson, ranked 19th in the world, clinical in the opening set against Keys, changed both break points and serving only in more than half an hour.

Australian Open Champion Keys dropped more service in the second beginning and Tauson refrained from getting a second successive victory in the top of the opponent who was ranked 10th in the world.
