The seven-time winner Novak Djokovic said he was “blessed” to seal his 100th victory in Wimbledon with a third round statement over his compatriot Kecmanovic.
Serbo Djokovic is not interested in delaying his century which is almost breathing at the All England Club and securing a 6-3 6-0 6-4 victory in just one hour and 50 minutes.
This is an achievement achieved in a single only by the winner of nine -time female Martina Navratilova and the winner of the eight -time Roger Federer, who holds a men’s record with 105.
If Djokovic won the trophy at the end of two weeks, he would still be one of the federer signs.
But that will make him a bigger achievement – the record of the 25th Grand Slam title that he has pursued since he last won the US Department in 2023 Open.
“Wimbledon is a favorite and dream tournament not only me but the majority of players,” he said.
“Growing, most children dream of winning here and I have been blessed to do it many times here. Whatever history I made in my favorite tournament … I am blessed.”
Djokovic celebrates a milestone by dances ‘pumping’ which has become a tradition between him and his children after each winning this tournament.
He demonstrated the dance with his daughter – who sat in his training box – during his speech on the field after the match.
38 years, the sixth seed, will take Australian 11th seed Alex de Minaur in the fourth round.
