Results of Wimbledon 2025: Cruz Hewitt, Putra Lleyton, won the first match at the Juniors event

Cruz Hewitt from Australia won in his first appearance at Wimbledon – 23 years after his father, Lleyton, claimed the men’s singles title.

Wearing a type of hat in front which is his father’s trademark, the 16-year-old player defeated Savva Rybkin Russia 6-1 6-2 in the first round of boys’ competition.

Lleyton, who defeated David Nalbandian in the 2002 Wimbledon Final, was a court for the victory of his son.

Former world number one Lleyton also won the US Open 2001 and reached the 2005 Australian Open final.

Cruz made a Senior Grand Slam debut in 2025 Australia Open after being given Wildcard to qualifications.

He lost in the first half and continued to reach the second round of the junior competition.

Cruz, who played with Mark Ceban in England in the double boys in SW19, will face the 11th seed of Finland Oskari Paldanius.
