Patty Tavatanakit and Jake Knapp won the mixed PGA/LPGA Tour event

Patty Tavatanakit and Jake Knapp carded a final round of 65 to win the Grant Thornton Invitational in Naples, Florida.

The pair combined for an eagle and five birdies in a seven-under round on Sunday as they finished at 27 under in the mixed PGA & LPGA Tour event.

The third round was played in a new way of team play. In the ‘corrected fourth ball’, both players remove and switch balls from their second shot and play that ball until they close it. Lower scores count as team scores.

“I putted well this week and I feel like everything was good,” Thailand’s Tavatanakit said of his meeting with American Knapp.

“I feel like our chemistry was really good, we just talked about random things. It worked really well.”

Thailand’s Atthaya Thitikul and Korea’s Tom Kim posted third-round 64s, with two birdies on the final two holes giving them second place at 26 under.

US duo Jennifer Kupcho and Akshay Bhatia birdied the 17th to move to 26 under, but bogeyed the 18th to complete the rematch.

New Zealand’s Lydia Ko and Australia’s Jason Day, the tournament’s inaugural winners in 2023, carded third-round 67s to end the tournament at 20 under.
